Supporting Local Creatives is an action of the Creative Banyule: Arts and Culture Strategy 2023–2031 and supports a key focus area to foster a sustainable and thriving creative sector. It will help us develop a tailored program for artist networking and professional development in Banyule.

Community engagement

What we did

From 28 October - 29 November 2024, we asked for feedback from local artists and creatives through an online survey, an in-person community workshop and pop-up sessions at arts events. 56 people completed the online survey and 20 people attended the workshop.

What you told us

We asked questions about networking, development needs, challenges, goals and preferred communication methods. We also asked about artists’ experience of the Pinpoint Artist Program and website.

What we heard

Next steps

Drawing on 'what we heard', we will develop initiatives and actions to foster creative collaboration, support creative practice, expand tailored networking opportunities and facilitate professional development. These actions will be delivered as part of the Creative Banyule: Arts and Culture Strategy 2023–2031 and include:

  • expanding networking opportunities that are tailored to specific arts practices and networking styles
  • supporting further professional development based on topics artists have requested
  • reviewing long-term platform suitability to support the objectives of the Pinpoint program.
