Thank you to everyone who helped to develop the Road Management Plan.
Council will be asked to adopt the final proposed Road Management Plan at their meeting this Monday 14 July. To view the meeting agenda and papers and to request to speak about the Plan, go to Council's website.
Community engagement
Thank you to the 54 people who provided feedback on the draft Road Management Plan from 16 April to 22 May 2025.
Overall there was overwhelming support for the draft Plan, with 82% of respondents supporting the inspection frequencies and 94% supporting the proposed footpath defect and response times.
Following community feedback, response times for low risk road defects, such as edge breaks, shoulder defects, guard rails and safety fence issues, have have been reduced from 90 days to 60 days.
Project background
The Road Management Plan (RMP) tells us how Council inspects, maintains and repairs its public roads and footpaths.
It sets the level of service that Council provides to make roads safe for users, and covers things like roads, footpaths, kerbs, gutters and other parts of the road area. It also sets out how often inspections are done, how issues are identified, and how quickly they are fixed to ensure safe travel for everyone.
As outlined in the Road Management Act, the Road Management Plan must be reviewed every four year. The current Plan will expire at the end of June 2025 and is due for review.
