Stage 2 engagement

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the College Views playground design.

The draft playground concept, developed using your feedback from Stage 1 community engagement, was shared on Shaping Banyule from 27 October to 17 November 2025. We asked for feedback to learn what the community liked about the design and what could be improved. During this period, 54 people viewed the Shaping Banyule project page and three people left comments. People told us that:

  • They appreciated the thought and effort behind the design and felt it would bring enjoyment to families and visitors.
  • The reserve needed better accessibility, including support for children with mobility challenges.
  • Th design meets their family’s needs,
  • They would like to see more unique play elements and features for older children to help distinguish it from nearby playgrounds.

Based on this feedback, we've made small changes to strengthen inclusivity to ensure the playground better supports a wider range of users, including children with mobility needs. As the community supported the plan, we will go ahead with the design and engage a contractor to deliver the works.

Construction on the new playground will start in April/May 2026.
