What you told us about the Shaping Banyule member newsletter

Thank you to everyone who shared their feedback.

From 1 June to 31 July 2026, 92 Shaping Banyule members completed an online survey about the Shaping Banyule Member Newsletter. We wanted to understand what is working well and how we can make future editions even more useful and relevant.

You can read some of the findings below or explore the full Shaping Banyule member survey findings report.

What we asked

We asked members:

  • How often they read the newsletter
  • How useful they find it
  • What content they value most
  • How clearly we report back on consultation outcomes and decisions
  • How easy it is to find opportunities to have a say
  • How easy the newsletter is to read and navigate
  • Whether the length is right
  • What improvements they would like to see in future editions.

What we heard

  • Easy to use

Most people told us the newsletter is useful, easy to read and simple to navigate.

  • Valuable content

Project updates, consultation outcomes and opportunities to have your say were identified as the most valuable content.

  • Closing the loop

You would like clearer information about how community feedback influences Council decisions.

What next?

We will continue producing the Shaping Banyule Member Newsletter and use your feedback to make it even more useful and relevant.

Based on what we heard, we will:

  • Continue sharing project updates and opportunities to have your say
  • Provide more "You said, we did" reporting and clearer updates on project outcomes
  • Share more information about what happens after consultation closes and the decisions that are made
  • Include more local content to help members find projects and opportunities relevant to their area
  • Improve links and navigation where possible to make information easier to find

Most respondents were happy with the newsletter's current format, readability and length, so these aspects will remain largely unchanged while we continue to make targeted improvements.
