An inclusive community benefits everyone

Inclusive communities have a powerful and protective effect on public health and our economy.

We have a responsibility to ensure that the services we provide, the culture of our organisation and the community we support locally is fair, equitable and promotes inclusion. Principles of good access, equity, participation and basic human rights are key to this.

The Inclusive Banyule Plan focuses on how Council can improve its inclusive practices and work with community and other agencies to address the inequities impacting people and communities in Banyule.

We are all responsible, so help us make a more Inclusive Banyule!

Inclusive Banyule - have your say!

The draft Inclusive Banyule Plan is Council’s commitment to Banyule’s diverse communities. It will guide how we work to promote and foster diversity and inclusion across our organisation and the municipality.

The draft Plan was endorsed by Council on 9 May 2022 to uplift social equity as we work towards our Banyule 2041 Community Vision.

Help us shape the Inclusive Banyule Plan by telling us whether you think the priorities and actions will help to create a more inclusive Banyule. We'd also like to know how you think we're performing across key inclusion measures of Access, Equity, Participation and Rights.

We welcome and value all your views. Have your say by completing a short survey until 21 June 2022.
