Inclusive Banyule

The Inclusive Banyule Plan is Council’s commitment to Banyule’s diverse communities. It will guide how we work to promote and foster diversity and inclusion across our organisation and the municipality.

The final Inclusive Banyule Plan and annual action plan was adopted by Council on 5 September 2022 to uplift social equity as we work towards our Banyule 2041 Community Vision. Watch a recording of the Council Meeting or view the Council minutes and report here.

Your feedback from community engagement in May and June 2022 was used to help us shape the Plan's first year priorities and actions.

An inclusive community benefits everyone

Inclusive communities have a powerful and protective effect on public health and our economy.

We have a responsibility to ensure that the services we provide, the culture of our organisation and the community we support locally is fair, equitable and promotes inclusion. Principles of good access, equity, participation and basic human rights are key to this.

The Inclusive Banyule Plan focuses on how Council can improve its inclusive practices and work with community and other agencies to address the inequities impacting people and communities in Banyule.

We are all responsible, so help us make a more Inclusive Banyule!
