Project Update #1

30 November 2021

We've already had more than 100 contributions shared on the Reimagining Olympic Leisure Centre project which is great.

A lot of the feedback has focused on the proposal to not have pools at the centre in the future and others have suggested different types of activities that would be good for the area.

The Co-Design team made up of 20 local people has started to meet to discuss all the feedback received so far as well as other evidence and data to start to create big ideas for the centre's future.

The team will meet 4 times over the next few months and we will be sharing a summary of the discussions after each session. Below is a graphic summary of what was discussed at the first meeting.

Background documents

2 key background documents have been shard that are also helping to shape the discussions about OLC:

The OLC Needs Analysis shows how OLC compares to other similar centres and gives options and ideas for other types of community facilities that could be provided on the site.

The Latrobe Employment cluster community Infrastructure plan is a broader document that highlights what community facilities are needed in the wider community around Heidelberg West.

Pop-up Community Conversations

Over the next few weeks our team will be out and about having community conversations about the project.
If you are in the area stop by for a chat.
