Project update

Work at Woodlands Park is now complete.

We consulted with the community and received feedback from 22 community members through an online survey and emails sent directly to our Open Space Planning Team.

We used your comments to make changes to the proposed designs so this playground will better serve the community.

Some of the changes include:

  • A new path that connects to the playground from Box Street
  • More seating
  • Making the proposed equipment timber
  • Adding a see-saw

About the space

Woodlands Park is a small reserve in Briar Hill. It has an existing playground, open grass space and some shade trees.

This playground is very popular with local families and is now scheduled for renewal. We are excited to continue to provide a high quality playground experience at Woodlands Park for many years to come, and we are seeking your feedback on the proposal.

Improving your playground

We will replace the existing playground with new and improved equipment to meet the needs of the local community. The new equipment will have timber elements and the playground will be softened with sections of nature play elements including logs and rocks giving it a very organic look, connecting the play space with the natural environment.

This new playground will offer the following elements:

  • One swing set with a strap seat, a toddler seat and a nest swing
  • Multiplay playground with a slide, a walkway, a platform with a roof and climbing elements
  • A nature play area with timber teepee, rocks and log steppers.
  • Have your say
