Project update - October 2020
Work at Delta Reserve is now complete.
We consulted with the community and received feedback from 42 community members through the online survey, letters and emails sent directly to our Open Space Planning Team.
We used your comments to make changes to the proposed designs so that this playground would better serve the community.
We heard what you said and some of the changes include:
- Additional seating throughout the park
- Changes to the layout of the bike
education track
- New climbing cube and slide
- More rubber soft fall surfacing.

About the space
Delta Reserve is a small park in Greensborough next to the Diamond Village Shopping Centre. This reserve offers a playground, half basketball court, shade trees and a connecting path to the shopping centre.
We are excited to continue to provide a high quality playground experience at Delta Reserve for many years to come, while striving to innovate in what we offer at this space, and we are seeking your feedback to the proposal.
Improving your playground
Work at Delta Reserve is now complete.
We replaced the existing playground with new and improved equipment which included Banyule's first ever bike education track.
Improvements include:
- A bike education track that will offer:
- Exciting education opportunities for road safety
- Traffic signage
- Roundabouts
- One-way tracks
- Pedestrian crossings
- Bike racks
- Shade
- An upgraded basketball half court that will be resurfaced with line markings and include a new basketball hoop, netball ring and seating
- A new path running along the south of the site connecting Diamond Village Shopping Centre to Delta Road
- A new path between the bike education track and playground area
- A new social area that will offer a shelter, two picnic tables, water fountain and bins
- Improved accessibility, functionality, comfort and aesthetics
- New garden bed and planting.
- A new playground with a:
- Rope climber
- Slide
- Cableway
- Swings (2 toddler and 2 sling seats)
- Junior play unit
- Car themed cubby house
