About this space

Located on Greenhills Road in Greensborough, the Greenhills Reserve is situated within the Greenhills local shopping precinct. The play space is enclosed by fencing, and features a curved slide, climbing unit, shop front, steering wheel, climber and monkey bars. There is also a swing set and springer.

The Greenhills area is known for its significance as a habitat for the Eltham Copper Butterfly and Council believe there is an opportunity to integrate community education about the Eltham Copper Butterfly into the playground design.

Councils Landscape Architect has been briefed to develop a design that reflects the environmental sensitivity of the area, the benefits of nature play and the unique recreational needs of the local community.

We'd love to hear from you - tell us what features you'd like to see included in the Greenhills Reserve Playground equipment.

What should we consider as we plan the replacement of this playground?

- a nest swing - hop scotch track - a ball target on the wall of the neighbouring business - a bigger playground space - less rocks - open space shelter towards the back gate for periods of light rain

Did you consult the community about the removal of the graffiti wall in the plsyground? Is it remaining green or is there going to be another wall srt reflecting the environment? It is very upsetting if the wall is no longer containing art work and the original work should have remained instead.

We would like a rock climbing wall, with rope to climb, higher fences so our football doesn't go over, upside-down T shaped tunnel with ladder going up the middle, soccer goals, sand play, bike rack just outside park. If the space allows, maybe zoned area for toddlers & zoned area for older children. Monkey bars & slide are popular. Thank you

This park is frequently used by preschool children and toddlers as it is close to the school and kindergarten so parents take time for a coffee at the cafe. There is not sufficient play equipment for the young age group. I'd like to see equipment that the 12mth + age group can use such as stepping stones, little slide, shop shelf, bridge, swings.

Gate with lock high enough so kids can't open it as currently safety issue.

Used by toddlers to upper primary age. Needs to be inclusive of these age groups. Currently meets active needs but consideration for cognitive/emotional/sensory and social needs. The Aussie animal mural is great. Incorporate rock formation as kids love to climb it, a slide down from this would be great. Nature play base, no off the shelf structure.

We would love to see a custom playground with local colourful graphics prepared by the local community or artist. Something different that can't be replicated everywhere so it creates a sense of ownership
