Project update
Work at Ivanhoe Park Playground is now complete.
We consulted with the community and received feedback from over 14 community members through an online survey and emails sent directly to our Open Space Planning Team.
We used your comments to make changes to the proposed designs so that this playground would better serve the community.
We heard what you said and some of the changes include:
Check out the before and after photos of the playground replacement at Ivanhoe Park below.
The old playground equipment that was removed from Ivanhoe Park was donated to Rotary who reuse it in Sri Lanka and donate it to communities that would otherwise not have access to playgrounds and equipment.
About the space
Ivanhoe Park is a large reserve in Ivanhoe East. The playground is popular with families. This playground has served the community well for many years and is now scheduled for renewal. We would like your feedback on the proposed designs so we can continue to provide a high quality playground experience.
Improving your playground
We are planning to replace the existing playground with new and improved equipment to meet your needs.
Proposed improvements include:
- One multi play playground with two slides and a variety of play opportunities.
- One swings set (one basket swing, two junior swings and two toddler swings).
- One spinner.
- One refurbished rocker.
- Reshaping of the playground area.
- A new netball court (next to the basketball court).
- Soft landscaping and shade tree planting.
- A new access path to Wamba Road to improve accessibility within and around the playground.
- Upgrade to basketball court.
Additional play equipment and improvements to the adjacent picnic area are proposed in stage two works.
Have a look at the proposed design and let us know what you think.
Works are scheduled to start on 1 July 2020.
