About this space

Located behind the milk bar on Plenty Rive Drive, Greensborough, the Apollo Parkways Reserve playground currently offers a combination unit featuring a spiral ladder, high narrow walkway, chain bridge, monkey bars and a shop front. There’s also a mini see-saw, springer and swing set.

Visitors to the playground can also enjoy the basketball ring and seating. Cyclists and walkers often pass through the play space through their use of the linear reserve connections to Partington’s Flat.

We know this is a valued recreation space for children and adults alike. We invite you visit the nearby local playgrounds, like the new Avandina Crescent play space, and suggest what we can do differently in the Apollo Parkways Reserve.

Look out for an invitation to meet us at the playground to talk through some design options for your new playground.

Hi what's the timeline for the replacement? I was told the playground would be replaced late 2017?

Big shade sails are a must. All the park equipment gets too hot to use through summer. Also every park I've ever been too never has enough toddler swings. I think 2-3 would be good and also the big basket/web swings are great. Water play/splash area.

This is my grandsons favourite play ground mainly because he loves to pretend and play shops which this one provides a little counter area. Hope this will remain or even be improved on with some signage to make it even more realistic. I would love some exercise equipment for myself and other senior people that use the area like in Banyule Flats

The playground is too small. There is plenty of space in Apollo parkways so it would be good to expand the playground with facilities like sand pool (we are too far from beach, cable basket, etc). BBQ facility for adults is also good. Plus, the playground can have some theme like ocean, space. Bundoora park playground is good example.

We need more modern playgrounds with more activities including spinning, basket swings. The current playgrounds we have at council they are now too boring. I recently visited a small playground at James Street in Windsor with my two young children and the play equipment installed is of great quality, design, there is natural play that they love
