New plans for Rosanna Library

21 April 2022

New plans for Rosanna Library

Based on what we heard during community consultation in May/June 2021 on the initial concepts, we have updated them to meet the needs of the community. The design team have worked hard to create revised plans that meet community expectations.

A common theme from your feedback was:

The new library will be spread over three storeys, creating a smaller footprint and more outdoor open space and will include a roof-top garden.

With the additional level, there will be space to accommodate other services to centralise them and make them more accessible and connected; services such as the Banyule Toy Library (relocated from Interlaken Kindergarten) and Rosanna MCH (relocated from Hillside Road Rosanna. Yarra Plenty Regional Library support and understand the synergies that co-locating with MCH can bring to the library service.

The new Rosanna Library will become a central hub for community, bringing people together to learn, create and connect!

What else is happening in Rosanna?

Turnham Ave Streetscape plan

We also heard feedback from the community about the Turnham Avenue Streetscape plan and have made changes to the concept to reflect your feedback. The revised streetscape plan for Turnham Avenue will be on display at Rosanna Library and available for comment in mid - late May 2022.

Planning Permit update

Council has received a development application for the site, which is being developed in conjunction with Woolworths. You will have an opportunity to have your say as part of the development process, in May-June 2022.
