What's happening at Westerfolds Park, Templestowe?
Interested in paddle sports? Then we'd love to hear from you!
Throughout March, Banyule Council, together with Manningham and Nilumbik Councils, Canoeing Victoria and the Melbourne Canoe Club, are asking people to 'have a say' on the Westerfolds Park Paddle Sports Plan.
The plan is part of a feasibility study to investigate enhancements at Westerfolds Park. It aims to improve facilities for park users including paddlers, Main Yarra Trail users and people participating in recreational activities. It proposes a Regional Paddle Sports Centre that would provide for increased boat storage, multipurpose spaces, a kiosk and change facilities along with proposed improvements to park and river access.
This regional feasibility study is being funded through a Community Sports Infrastructure Fund grant from Sport and Recreation Victoria and is being undertaken with the sites land managers, Parks Victoria and Melbourne Water.
