We have rich precinct-specific data from 77 completed surveys and 50 conversations at the Greensborough Walk Mother's Day Market on 11 May 2024. Additionally, 7 people from North Precinct participated in the Community Vision workshops.

Who are we?

The population is 15,886 and is forecast to grow by 22.3% by the year 2041. There are 48.6% Males and 51.4% Females in North Precinct. The average age is 41 years with 37.7% people aged 50 years and over. 20.8% were born overseas and 15.7% speak a language other than English at home. The unemployment rate is 4.3% with an employment rate of 64.4%. The average weekly household income is $1,994 and the Socio-economic rating is 1063, compared with 1058 for Banyule.

Petrol prices and fuel is third on the list at 29%. Transport, public transport and infrastructure is fourth on the list at 26%. The economy is fifth on the list at 25%.
Health and Wellbeing

When asked about their future physical health, the North Precinct rating is 7.3 out of 10 stars, while the Banyule wide rating is 7.3 stars. 11% of people in the North Precinct said their physical health will get worse. 60% of the people in the North Precinct said their physical health will stay the same. 30% of the people in the North Precinct said their physical health will get better. When asked about their future mental health, the North Precinct rating is 7.5 out of 10 stars, while the Banyule wide rating is 7.5 stars. 3% of people in the North Precinct said their mental health will get worse. 66% of the people in the North Precinct said their mental health will stay the same. 31% of the people in the North Precinct said their mental health will get better. When asked about their future social wellbeing, the North Precinct rating is 7.5 out of 10 stars, while the Banyule wide rating is 7.5 stars. 2% of people in the North Precinct said their social wellbeing will get worse. 78% of the people in the North Precinct said their social wellbeing will stay the same. 20% of the people in the North Precinct said their social wellbeing will get better.
Health and Wellbeing

In 2021 62.6% of people in the North Precinct had completed Year 12, compared to 66.4% for Banyule.
Future project ideas

This list can change, and projects confirmed as each annual budget gets developed. Project – New Pedestrian bridge over the Plenty River near Railway Road is planned for in the 2025 to 2026 budget as part of the Future Capital Works Program and as an ongoing advocacy area. Project – Building improvements for Henry Street Community Hall, Grace Park Community Hall, Diamond Vallley Learning Centre and Greenhills Neighbourhood House is planned for as part of the Community Infrastructure Plan in the 2026 to 2027 and onwards. Priority area – Advocacy for better design outcomes for North East Link is ongoing. Project – Road treatments at Nell Street Greensborough between Paterson Cr and Henry Street is planned for in 2024 to 2025 budget as part of the Future Capital Works Plan. Project – Investigate co-location and renovation opportunities for Community Drive Greenhills community buildings is planned for in 2024 to 2025 and 2025 to 2026 budget as part of the Community Infrastructure Plan. Project area – Advocate to convert WaterMarc from gas powered to renewable electric energy is ongoing. Project – New playground at Apollo Parkways Reserve is planned for in the 2025 to 2026 budget as part of the Future Capital Works Program. Project – Full renovation of Sportfield Oval Surface at Partingtons Flat Reserve is planned for in the 2024 to 2025 and 2005 to 2006 budget as part of the Future Capital Works Program. Project – Investigate future options for vacant Grace Park Cottage is planned for in the 2024 to 2025 and 2025 to 2026 budget as part of the Community Infrastructure Plan.
