Poulter Reserve, 26 Poulter Avenue, Greensborough (REMAINS)
This site remains as a recommended site for North Precinct and the potential site for the relocation of the existing Greensborough skate park. The site is flat and could be developed cost-effectively and can accommodate a large new facility or a combination of facilities that include a range of different recreation opportunities. Social areas and lighting, a mix of multi-purpose courts with climbing walls and fitness areas are good potential additions for future development.
Greensborough War Memorial Park, 203 Henry Street, Greensborough (REMAINS)
This site remains as a recommended site for North Precinct. This urban park offers a shelter, BBQ facility, a toilet, a sports oval and club, a playground and has a community centre on site. It offers excellent opportunities for a more diverse urban play space. Future facilities for young people could include more multi purpose courts, a multi-use game area, adventure play and social spaces.
Additional site recommendations 800m from Greensborough Station
Greensborough Walk, 1 Flintoff Street, Greensborough (east side of Council building) (REMAINS)
This site remains as a recommended site for North Precinct. This urban streetscape is naturally attractive for young people. It is close to the main shopping precinct, Council buildings and WaterMarc and has great access to public transport and other amenities. Some recreational facilities exist on-site such as planter boxes with seating and a small outdoor stage integrated with the building.
Some elements to consider for a more diverse play experience include art and lighting installations for interactive play and line-making for multi-purpose game areas.
